Ross Juniors under 9s

For 2009 Ross Juniors will have two teams, Juniors and Colts. Juniors will be in Herefordshire Under 9’s League A and Colts in League B. The Juniors are managed by Paul Flitney, Andy Cronshaw and Neil Vanstone. The Colts are run by Dee Springer and Lee Barrington.

There are over 25 boys collectively training at this age and the club are keen to hear from any other boys interested in joining. The boys train Monday night 6-7pm at John Kyrle High School on the Astro Turf.

This section of the club are sponsored by Ross Rotary Club and JLB Kendrick.

The Juniors recently celebrated their first tournament success by winning the Hinton Tournament, remaining undefeated throughout and not conceding a goal. They have started the league well and are benefiting from most of the boys playing as a team the previous season.

 The Colts are the newer boys to the club and are progressing well each week. This season is very much a learning curve for them, they have ability, enthusiasm and effort but are lacking match experience. Slowly over the season they are playing more as a team, keeping better shape and learning from mistakes. By the end of the season the boys will be in an excellent position, the improvement from game to game is vast. 

END OF SEASON UPDATE

The Juniors came 2nd in the league and runners up in the County Cup. The Colys steadily improved finishing 4th in supplemantary cup and reaching quarter finals in Hinton Cup.

For 2011 The Juniors will be in the Under 10's league A and Colts in Under 10's league B. Training restarts on Thursday 19th August 2010 at Ross Rowing Club 6-7pm. New players are most welcome please turn up with drinks, boots and a smile. For the 2010-11 season the boys/girls will need to be in school year 5.

Ross Juniors under 9's went through to the cup semi finals as well as being well placed 2nd in the league.
